We need water to survive, so why does it sometimes seem so…blah? After a long day, your parched body might be craving something sweet, like soda or a sports drink. But research shows that these sugary drinks aren’t good for our teeth, weight, or heart health. We also know that water gives us life—literally. So instead of grabbing a sugary beverage to quench your thirst, why not try to fancify your water?

Take your water from bland to fab with these delicious fruit infusions. Add as much or as little of each ingredient as you want to make it your own.

Lemon berry fizzIngredients

  • 8–10 oz seltzer (fizzy) or regular water
  • ¼ cup fresh or frozen mixed berries
  • 3–4 slices of lemon
  • Ice

Directions

Layer slices of lemon and berries at the bottom of a tall glass, top off with ice, then pour water over.

Helpful hint: Placing the ice on top helps keep the fruit fully submerged—for optimal infusion.

Ingredients

Cucumber lime mint

  • 8–10 oz seltzer or regular water
  • 3–4 slices of cucumber
  • 3–4 slices of lime
  • 1 handful of mint leaves, torn and stems removed

Ingredients

Apples and spice

  • 8–10 oz water
  • 4–5 slices of pink lady or gala apple, ¼-inch thick
  • 1–2 cinnamon sticks
  • Ice (optional)

Directions

Fill tall glass with as much or as little of the apple and cinnamon as desired. Top off with filtered water. Use ice for a chilled drink, or enjoy this fall favorite at room temperature.
